Bandelier NM is near Los Alamos in Frijole Canyon at about 6060 feet above sea level. The monument was severely damaged by The Las Conchas Fire, which began on June 26 and burned over 60% of the park landscape.

The Ancestral Puebloans (PB) used this canyon differently than others ruins we have visited in that the AP built their homes against the cliff walls and utilized natural caves that were in the face of the cliff as additional rooms.
