Smoky Mountains December 2012

We spent Christmas in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina. The Balsam Mountain Inn is a marvelous old place in the midst of some very scenic terrain. The Great Smoky Mountain Railroad runs along the valley floor. Good, all weather roads lead to other scenic places like the village of Highlands. The drive is quite breathtaking.
