Perhaps this little lady has the luxury of time to fuss about herself as she always has some other unsuspecting bird raising her young. By laying her eggs in other nesting birds they are raised by and fed as the natural young are . Often times being bigger and stronger they imperil the success of the other species. This is why for woodland birds it is important to leave larger parcels to protect thrushes and other birds from the cowbird who apparently does not pentetrate too far into the forest. Though It's nature, I hate to think of all the beautiful birds at risk that I've seen in this area.
