The Parrot licks, where parrots come to eat the soil in order obtain dietary minerals, are on the opposite shore of the Napo River from Sacha Lodge in Yasuni National Park. We made an early morning river crossing with the sunrise. There are actually two licks, one on the bank of the river, and another inland to which we hiked. The river lick attracts different species of parrots than the inland one.
