Showy Lady's Slipper - Minnesota's State Flower

Finally timed the bloom of our state flower in the Itasca area. It always seems like I'm late or early. The plants were in pristine condition which makes for clean photos:) The flowers are quite rare and last for so short a time, it's a real treat to find a nice grove of them.

yes, beautiful, pristine and rare...we had them occasionally at our summer home in coastal British Columbia...indeed hard to find and photo them
