Our final 15 days were spent along the caribbean, near Punta Uva, in the Villa Toucan. Appropriately named, we would see dozens of toucans daily usually in the morning and starting again around 4 PM. Both keeled-billed and mandibled toucans were present, 80 % of the birds spotted were keel-billed. Collared Aracari, guans, violaceous trogons, and a blue crowned mot mot were also photographed at the Villa. The Villa was open air design with 3 sides of the bathrooms facing the jungle. The kitchen and lounging areas were also open. The beaches were very nice and the waters calm for swimming. The only thing more plentiful than the toucans were the howler monkeys, they woke us early and provided us with many hours of enjoyment.
