Jul 10 2005

About a month ago (while coming down off a hill after taking pictures)I fell and tore muscles in my left knee. I have been pretty much off my bicycle for he last month. I have ridden to work a couple times and took a ride last weekend but today was my first ride longer than 25 miles. The knee is ok, not good, but ok.

It really felt good to be riding.

I have been watching Lance and le Tour de France on the OLN (Outdoor Life Network). What amazing athletes those young men are.

My riding is for totally different reasons: a little exercise and relaxation. I figure as long as the pedals keep going around I'm getting some physical benefit. They don't have to go around too fast or too hard, just keep on goin'round.

Great colors, especially the blue bag pops nicely out. Me too have been watching TDF on the Eurosport and I can easily agree with you about those athletes.

So I won't call you Lance, but I'm impressed with your getting back into it, and this image is quite well done. I like the way you placed the bike in the field.

Very nice photo, Don, and a really interesting narrative. Sorry about your injury and glad you can ride again. I watched people ride bicycles up the Grand Tetons, the Chief Joseph Pass and the Beartooth Highway. Amazing.

I love the title and this is a fun, colorful photo. Love your bike; around here we'd get run over and smashed to smithereens. More than 25 miles, you say----bravo for you!
