We sold our relatively large house in the little village of East Aurora, NY and after a year or so moved into a smaller 1930's bungalow style house in the city. I'm not a city guy. Elaine grew up in the city and enjoyed coming back.

The Buffalo city schools have a residency requirement. Elaine wants to teach in the city schools so here we are.

Now to the photograph. She talked me into this house but I fell in love with the woodwork and leaded glass. I wanted to show the woodwork and glass without glare, so no flash, existing light. But it left some unwanted shadows.

Started riding my bike to work...now that the snow is pretty much gone. But that takes up my morning photo time. I really miss that.

Yup, I have seen this kind of woodwork in some of the homes I have visited there in the city also, lots of beautiful architecture in Buffalo, that's for sure.

Beautiful woodwork Don.
I'm not a city guy either so I'm with you.
Nice image.

What you need is an apartment in the city for occasional changes of pace and shopping trips and threatre and such, and then your wonderful bungalow as well. I bet Elaine would approve! Me, I'm torn -- love both areas. Looks like you've found a nice stout home which will be filled soon with warm memories.

I'm with Elaine on city living! But... I do like your taste in wood and leaded windows. I've just signed up for a course in stained glass making (for May)- could be fun or a disaster!!

Only in homes of that era will you find such beauty & sturdiness. The warmth shows, Don.

Nice architectural shot.

they sure don't make them like they used to. Modern houses are so plain compared to this. I love old houses! But they can be a money pit! Enjoy it. Cindy

Very nice. I like the feeling of depth.

Beautiful details here. And you'll have to devise a way to mount your camera on the handlebars as you ride to work. So you can just reach over the push the button.

Nicely done Don.
