Buffalo On The Move

Monday night we had the opportunity to cover the Iron Event at The Town Ballroom. Leaving the event the city looked so good with the new street I had to retrieve my tripod from the car and try to capture a touch of the city in the night.

While taking the photos a couple from Melbourne, Australia approached me. He was in his late fifties and she a bit younger, both dressed very casually and their demeanor announced tourists. They were in Buffalo to see Niagara Falls. Again, it was Monday night at about 9:00, when he inquired as to where are all the people?

My excitement was dampened a tad. However I could report, but it really is on the move. That was encouraging and rekindled my excitement.

I've BEEN to Melbourne. Trust me, some parts of it are as, er, unpopulated as this shot at 21:05 on a Monday.

(And had they been from Canberra they would *definitely* have been pulling your leg. I like Canberra but by 21:00 week nights most of it is a mausoleum.)

You've picked the right exposure time for this; the motion blurred lights are wispy but still have a good feel of substance to them. I like the way the starbursts from the street lights compliments the blur too. I also like the way you've avoided blowing out the Shea's light.
