Aziz Ansari

I covered the Aziz Ansari act last night for Buffalo.com.
I'm sorry folks, this guy seems smart enough, but I think
his stuff is simple and not really that funny.
The restrictions he placed on the photographers were interesting, too.
We could only shoot the first two minutes of the show, and absolutely no flash photography.

For some shots of the fans and the Aziz show

...PRESS HERE

For the fan shots , most were taken in the lounge area prior to the show.

These kinds of venues are so tough to shoot. My assignment is to provide 30-40
"smile for the camera" shots of the fans and then 10 shots of the main event. The
objective is to generate page hits on the Buffalo.com site where advertising can be viewed.

If anyone knows how to shoot good flash photography, basically all candid shots where you
have about 30 seconds to get the folks together, get the smile and capture the image, I wish
you'd pass on your hints to me. I try diffusers, Demb reflectors, and the like and I still get
simply "flash" pictures. I'm not using flash brackets. Candid flash like this is really tough.

If you took the opportunity to hit the "PRESS HERE" link above, can you help me with this
question. Is it just me, but how do we ugly, unkept guys get these beautiful women to
hang on to our arms? The more I work these events the more it hits me as to how
really good looking the American woman is and how really dumpy we men appear.
What's the deal?
