This is "the falls" that is West Falls, NY. Most of my formative years were experienced in West Falls. This is the center of the little borough, we actually lived about three miles from here up on a hill that forms the east rim of the Colden Valley. If you look in the background of the image there is a red stop sign. Behind that sign is now an empty area where once a two room school house stood that was the "West Falls School". I went to first and second grade in that school. It has long since been removed and a little playground stands where the school once stood. Everyone knew everyone else in West Falls. I remember not far from this bridge was the "Potter's Store" a general store that was the center of West Falls, Doc Becker's office (Doc made house calls), John's Barber Shop and the Dog Bar. You can still get a fine steak at the Dog Bar.
