Thank you, Don, for your pictures as well as correcting the inaccuracies that seem to crop up. My classmate Jimmy's dad and uncle lost their lives during the Pillsbury explosion...a strange and sad conclusion to the Christmas holiday.

Hi there you took my photo at the bandits game on Saturday and I can't find the photo on buffalo.com. Just wondering if maybe you could send it to me, I'll give you a picture so you can find me

Hi Don, don't know if you remember me from my days at Citi. I have always admired your work and look at your site frequently. Do you do any commission work? I moved into a new home last summer and just finished re-decorating the den. All that's missing is the artwork. I'm visualizing larger scale black and white photos of prominent Buffalo Architecture. Contact me if this is any interest to you. Thanks!

I stumbled across your gallery while updating mine here on pbase....so glad I did! WOW..viewing your amazing photos of Buffalo have now made me PROUDER than ever to call myself a Buffalonian! I did move to California a few months after the BLIZZARD of 77! My family owned Manny's Supper Club on Delaware Avenue. I was wondering if you ever took any photos of that block of historic Brownstones where Manny's was?
Mary Eisenbeis 22-Oct-2011 22:28
Don, I love looking at your photos. They're so saturated with color and the compositions are beautiful. Wish I could take pictures like you. Do you teach classes?
John Leitner Lang 29-Sep-2011 09:59
I had not seen either the PBN website nor your photos before. Have my roots in the dark-and-depressed, so sadly neglected but once beautiful Buffalo near East Side (was born and spent my early years just four blocks from what was then Humboldt Park). My mother had graduated from Fosdick Masten High School. She used to take me to a Turnverein, where I started appreciating the German heritage I came from. Your photos are wonderful, showing so many shades of slices of life, and reminding Buffalonians, newcomers or from many generations back, that the city is beautiful even now, was exceptionally beautiful in the past, and surely can be both vital and beautiful again.

You're work is beautiful and an inspiration. I lived on a the road as a child and one of the few places which was memorable was Buffalo. It's a beautiful City, where it's hard to feel a stranger. Very accepting and down to earth. I've travelled, and that's hard to find, so it's something to be proud of. It made an impression in my mind and I hope someday to help you out. Thanks for sharing your amazing work, I hope others find it and pay for it...well worth it.

Don,

You have some great shots of the bridge. I am looking for about 7 or 8 pictures depicting Grand Island for the High School yearbook. I am looking for a few of the bridge, the water with a sunset, and maybe an aerial of the Island. Are you for hire for any other type of photography?

Just saying hello.
Larry Fortunato informed me I should view your Old Fort Niagara photos, and I'm glad he did as I'm finding your photos very interesting.
Also my main interest is road cycling, I don't have any photos posted on that, but this year I'm taking my little DiMAGE G500 with me and will get some shots.
I'll keep in touch with your galleries.

Regards from a fellow cyclist

Love the picture of the 'beloved' brick/cobblestone road. It can be noisy but it is historic. I'll be stopping over for a copy to frame, your neighbor at 86.

Don,

Hello my friend. I am now convinced that you lead the most extraordinary, and possibly secretive, life of any person I know. All of your pictures are utterly amazing. I must say that you should abandon your current day job and become a freelance photographer (well maybe after you win the lottery)! You have an undeniable talent, and I look forward to seeing any future photos that you post.

Hello Don
I can't make B&W pictures with my camera. Only a couple very expensive can. I changed them later with Photoshop. I look at the contrast in dark and light and at the textures.
It’s nice to do.
Warm regards Valeska
