Meeker's White Mule Deer Buck survived the 2006 hunting season but shortly after was found dead of natural causes. The head was salvaged and mounted and now hangs in the Colorado Department of Wildlife's Meeker Office.
He was,and still is, the most popular deer in the area. In the spring of 2007 a very light-colored mule deer fawn was seen in the same vicinity where the white buck was last seen alive.
