Happy Valentine's Day

I wore red, just for this occasion.
Ok, that is bullcrap,
I just happen to be wearing red.
This is the first time in over a decade that
this day contains no pressure what so ever.
No card that needs to be the "right" card,
no flowers pulled out from behind the back.
Nothing but me and my guitar singing songs.
It'd be better if I was strumming my 6 string,
on my front porch swing, but it is too cold out!
I actually wondered what this would be like.
The first Valentine's day since the divorce.
It is really the first day totally designed for "Love".
Or at least, that is what Hallmark teaches us.
Alas, the one I love the most is in the picture.
I am happier and more free than I ever was married.
Being single is great, especially on this day.
No expectations except the ones I have for myself.
And I can live up to those, just watch me.
