Merry Christmas

This was the sad sight at Stop and Shop
I knew the story all too well
As I pulled into the space this cart was there.
Someone thought they would have a Christmas fire.
They bought the Duraflame log with everything.
They went out to the car and loaded everything.
Unfortunately they left the log on the bottom of the cart.
Away they pulled to a less joyous Christmas.
I am sure the log called out, but nobody heard.
It would have provided warmth and now it was cold.
Left at the shopping cart funeral home.
No family to call its own this year.
They will get home and know its loss.
They will say "I know I picked one up".
"Where could it have gone?"
Another tragic Christmas tale.
Another log not thrown on the fire.
