Even Girly still hurts

I have to say I am surprised.
They really were not buds.
Sure, they shared the same home.
But they would never hang out together.
So when Girly sits there and stares... it is sad.
You see, SamSam was a little weak near the end.
She used to nap a lot in the loft when she was stronger.
Unfortunately there are a lot of stairs to get there.
So she had given that up over the past month or so.
She had switched to napping under the room dining table.
Easier to get to and central to everything.
For days Girly watched under there like a hawk.
She became hyper vigilant of any sound.
If a bug hit an outside window she RAN to it.
Sadly, she was looking for SamSam.
Losing her changed the whole dynamic of the house.
Both Girly and I will adjust in time.
For for today however, we miss her.

PS: I will only write this one once:
"Day 7 of the Samantha Henry Memorial Project".
