So, as far as winter storms go this really is not that great. What makes this storm notable is that it happened in South Texas. Nothing here seems to have been designed to withstand more than a night of freezing temperatures. A week of freezing temperatures and there are burst pipes, power outages, grocery stores stripped of inventory, crazy drivers, schools closed for a week, and lots of snowmen. Texas is a great, but goofy, state.
