A Day at Tehachapi

The La Measa Model Railroad Club in San Diego is building a layout of the Tehachapi Pass. Here are some shots taken January 29, 2005 during a run session of some of the equipment I have been working on. I'm a Regular Member and have the opportunity to run there frequently. Included are some in process shots of the Athearn Genesis PC&F 8+6 ft RBLs that I have modified with the Hi-Tech Details replacement door. (Available direct only. Contact Hi-Tech directly at PO Box 244. Ukiah, CA 95482. $4.00 for a set. S&H included)
I also included some Tim Costello shots of the club progress to the Loop. As you can see the benchwork and roadbed is in place all the way to Tunnel 10 past the loop. The club intends to have iths section operational by June.

Thanks for those extra photos of the Landis plug door conversions. I'll have to get a set of those Hi-Tech doors for the box car I bought a year ago. I plan almost fulfilled.

Great to see your post of Landis door SP/SSW RBL's! The detail shots of the doors with your take on the hardware were particularly useful. Yes, I have a half dozen door sets. I'll probably return for more. now we just need to get Jimmy to do 10 ft Landis doors for PFE....

I also enjoyed your shots of your SD-39, doing what the real things were built for.
