Sandhill Crane Nest Location BELOW RED SQUARE	Nest Building	Do you mind? Matter of fact I did lay a couple of eggs.	No! Im not ready to show you, nosey	You better not mess with Mama!
My Precious!	Everything's got to be just right	Time for a break	Strutting	Time for a power nap!
Dad getting purty! or is it Mom?	Must be Mom, she is taking too long!	HEY! Paparazzi!	Surviving the rising water	Contentment
Just 9 more days! ..... yay!	What should we name him?	Awwww......... our first family portrait!	Mom, egg needs to be fixed !	See if you like this!
Warm and Fuzzy all over	A stay in your pajamas type morning!	So you can't wait till your sister comes out of her shell!	Mom! I want some attention too!	Yes?
Hi sweetie!	Taste this !	One more to go!	We have moved to higher grounds!	Oh no! The paparazzi has found us!
Dad is showing us all the fancy restaurants!	Yum! I found a dragonfly	I see something!	We better stay close	Glad I wore my galoshes
So why did the chicks cross the road?	Peekaboo!	It itches right here Mom!	Now Its my turn	Up up and away!
Wow look what Dad found!	Yum! Snake!	I want it ! No It's mine!	I won!	Going back home for a visit
Oh my, how we have grown!	I see the lake mom!	Just not the same without Sissy!	Wow! What was that?	I think you better get out of there!
Hurry Hurry !	Whats a little Birdie to do in such a big and dangerous world?	Dad is always vigilant	Mom sure can find the grub!	Doesn't that guy ever get tired of taking my picture?
Another beautiful evening at home!	This is getting plain outright annoying!	Need a drink Mom!	Soon I will be getting my Learners permit!	Can't wait to get home !
Good Morning, off to work!	What's the hurry?	What do I want for breakfast ?	Paparazzi up early !	Happy Birthday! 2 months old
Where is my cake?	Here I am 8 days later!	Do you have to get that close?	Aww.......better than Evian !	Do I need deodorant?
Going to Denney's for Breakfast !	We have coupons!	Am I bigger than Mom now?	Big Stretch!	Yeah, My feathers are changing
I wish my red feathers would come in!	Got an itch..right there!	3 Months old today, did ya bring me a present?	It was this big! Ya should have seen it	Just relaxing!
Gee Mom, didn't they tell you not to drink the water?	Loooooks like lunch to me! Don't move dragonfly!	Only Peach fuzz still?	4 Months old...A hint of Red ?	Moved into a Golf Country Club ----- Living the American Dream

Very nice gallery. We see quite a few cranes here in Wisconsin. Their vocalization is quite unforgettable.

Wonderful gallery -- so many well done photos! I've just recently seen sandhill cranes for the first time and was able to get a couple basic shots --- but this gallery is just fantastic -- inspirational !!

Great photos. Strange how the cranes can differ so much in different parts of the country. At my house in Michigan I have a pair that nest across the road and several others in hearing range and they come from Florida. However, in Florida and Mississippi there are cranes that never migrate. Right now I'm on the Platte River at Rowe Audubon Sanctuary volunteering and we have about 3 hundred thousand of them here getting fat to go to Alaska and far nothern Canada. Then again, most of those in New Mexico nest in Washington or British Columbia. I really enjoy your pictures. Have you seen our crane cam? We have a camera in the middle of the river and are taking pictures morning and evening of the cranes in the river. You can see them on your computer. Go to www.rowesanctuary.org and click on the link to the cam. It's really great. Stevie

Where and when were these gorgeous photos taken? I've been to Nebraska to see the Cranes come thru in March. But I've never seen them nesting.

Larry, Congratulations!! I met you while Mom was still on the nest. We talked about the owls at Twin Lakes, and other birds!! We left for Naples late the afternoon these newest twins were born!
