In the early morning a donkey and a horse pause in their task of carrying bricks to be fired in a brick kiln. In this picture, at that moment the donkey is not carrying any bricks, but the horse is carrying a heavy load. The path is very dusty. In the background a boy is guiding a horse which is carrying a load of bricks. Poverty and child labour is pervasive among workers in brick kilns in South Asia. Horses and donkeys also suffer badly.
