Stacking bricks

Just after dawn three Pakistani Pashtun men are at work with four horses stacking bricks to be fired in a kiln. A boy stands waiting for the horse to be unloaded. Poverty and child labour is pervasive among workers in brick kilns in South Asia. Horses and donkeys also suffer badly. Peshawar alone has approximately 450 brick kilns. Photo taken on February 27, 2008 in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.
