Israeli Soldier - Hebron

This soldier is a kind and sensitive man, qualities not typically associated with soldiers in Hebron.

The boys are heroes. They risk they lives to defend their land. They risk they lives to prevent killing. They are on everyday war and stay humans. This is a real heroism.

well said Damon. I think it's also worth noting that the Israeli Army has compulsory service. He has to do his duty, and this involves carrying a weapon. I commend you on both a great pic and the commentry. you didn't have to mention that he seemed quite a humanitarian even though he is surrounded by bigotry and xenophobia. great job

Sometimes people are in jobs they don't want to be doing. Maybe he is? I don't know, I didn't ask him that. All I know is that I saw him treating the Palestinians with kindness and respect, totally different from the other soliders. This was very clear. Furthermore he is good to the Christian Peacemaker Team accompaniers, which is also unusual.

I believe in nonviolence and personally I detest guns but that does not make me think that everyone who carries a gun is automatically a bad person. Life is not black and white like this. He seems to be to be a good person caught in a bad situation....

if he is SENSITIVE and KIND like you descriped then what do you call " carrying a gun"?is it really a way of showing how kind and sensitive he is? and is being sensitive and kind something he decides when to be and when not to be??
