Hezbollah kidnapped Jerry in March 1984 and held him hostage for close to a year. His wife Sis published a book about the experience, Beirut Diary, which was made into the film Held Hostage: The Sis and Jerry Levin Story. You can read a little more about their story here.

Jerry is a very cool guy. He currently works for Christian Peacemaker Teams (CPT). I and another person were shown around Hebron by Jerry. You can see CPT's images of the Hebron situation here and the nearby village of Tuwani.
