40 Year ago the last time we saw an American Aircraft Carrier in South Africans waters.
The last time the aircraft carrier was allowed in but the sailors were not allowed off the ship because of Apartheid.
The irony is today the sailors will be ferried in but the Aircraft carrier will not be allowed in, this time because of outside factors.
It is sad that it has taken South Africa 40 years to normalise relationships with the
USA to the extent that a nuclear aircraft carrier can now come into our waters.

The only nuclear power station in Africa is in Koeberg some 10mile from were the
carrier will be anchored, and this were Escom the government,
hope to test the new Pebble bed reactor which
is still excremental
and has been rejected by many counties,
as been less safe.
