Forgot to mention: The nursery you visited has (according to official registration) only 1800+ different species etc. and the majority is not indigenous and is indoors. But it's a nice collection. True! Especially the Haworthia collection is worthwhile to see.

Funny; the description is of Soekershof which is nextdoor to the nursery you visited.
Unfortunately the local people (local politics) tend to direct tourists to locally owned attactions. the nursery you visited has a nice garden (created by Marthinus Malherbe in 1954!!!) but only a few hundred species outdoors. Soekershof is known for it's outdoor collection of over 2500 different (and registered) succulent plants species (subspecies/cultivars/etc.) and therefore recognised as the garden with one of the largest collections of its kind in the world. And with the oldest cactus of South Africa (anno 1910) For pictures seehttp://www/pbase.com/soekershof and our website with PRECISE road directions (etc.)http://soekershof.com
And for TAM: our insurance premium for theft etc. is only 25% of what the people in Cape Town are paying. Soekershof is also the only botanical garden in South Africa that is certified by Fair Trade in Tourism in South Africa.

Really a very nice place for living if not so much violence! I left SA 2001 and found the property went up two times. Good to the property agents, but, how about the poor SA people. I don't mean the black!
