The freeform and abstract Chihuly sculpture was an interesting counterpoint to the symmetrical formality of the Legion of Honor. The shadow was a handy device to point at he sculpture.
For me, the large yellow spaghetti thing is small enough in the composition to not be a positional problem. The foreground shadow is a great lead-in and the almost over-exposed columns actually lend strength to this image. There's just a nice placement of the architectural lines, forms and resulting shadow along with a heroic attempt to control the DR without diminishing the obvious contrast this scene would offer on such a day.
If you're like me, you probably hated all those people milling around in YOUR scene! Yet, without them this would appear too stark and lifeless. Well, except for the big spaghetti thing! At least they're all milling about at the far end and not in your foreground. Or did you chase them away?!! The folk in the archway almost appear to be fleeing while glancing over their shoulder. =O
Crisply shot! The contrast of blue sky to the yellow of the sculpture is nice, but would have been better if they had placed the sculpture a few feet to the right...
