We were very lucky to witness a 100' tall iceberg (left pic) disintegrate (middle pic) while we cruised in a zodiac, at times only 50' from it. Our expedition leader, who was in the zodiac, was a bit startled and yelled at us to get down on the bottom of the zodiac since the displacement of water could cause huge waves. The ship's doctor (rightside of right pic) paid no mind and kept filming the iceberg's demise as the zodiac sped out of harm's way. All that was left of the iceberg were tons of bergie bits, literally. What an adrenalin rush!
