_MG_2127_train_accident.jpg

THis, the third frame, shows the two women as they flounder around in the river, about 1.5 seconds after they hit the water I'd guess. The boy with the bright yellow beach bag, at the top right corner of the photo is not on the far riverbank, but is still seated on the trestle, where he had just seconds earlier been MISSED by the engine and the passenger cars, since his wooden beam stuck out a bit farther, and he was physically smaller and lower and more hunched-down than the two women who were not so lucky. The train is still moving as I am shooting this exposure, and the lens setting is a very-wide 21mm. The black I-beam in the center of the picture is where the two women had been seated when the engine came by and missed them. The lower right corner of this wide-angle, 21mm shot shows the window of the rail car that I am was riding in.
