A crop of a HSC JPEG. This is the left hand side of a HSC 3MP-Medium JPEG,with the right hand side of the frame simply cropped and thrown away, if my memory serves me correctly. Using the HSC mode at a mere 120mm focal length gives a pretty well OOF backdrop at f/3.5,and gives a teeny-tiny bit of depth of field to play with that's not there when the lens is at f/2.8, so that mere 2/3 stop down from 2.8 to 3.5 is a useful gain on Depth of Field, and well worth the extra two clicks on the D2x's control wheel. Spencer's lovely, almost porcelain-doll skin tones are represented here very, very ably by the D2x. THis ain;t jazzy,punched-up Fuji color--this is one of the most color-accurate D-SLR's the testing folks have ever encountered. And I can vouch for the accuracy of this color.
