This is from one of my early test shooting situations of the 28-200 AF G Nikkor, which has an amazingly close minimum focusing distance of 14 inches at all focal lengths from 28mm all the way to its 200mm max telephoto setting. I took this photo at 1/180th second at f/16 using manual, centerweighted metering set to -1/2 stop. I focused manually, and had to flip the limiter switch OFF to focus this close, and this close is at minimum focusing distance. Focal length is 200mm. So this is,in effect, a minimum focus distance, maximum reproduction ratio closeup for this little featherweight zoom lens. Not too bad really. Early afternoon diffused skies (around 2:00 PM) after a light spring rain made for an easy exposure.
