DSCF1176_1_Leap Year's Day.JPG

I absolutely love this surrealistic rendition I got by combining electronic flash, a long ambient light exposure of 1/20th second, an extension tube and a soft-focus filter with a 200mm focal length setting, and Vibration Reduction. The reduced detail, the reduced sharpness of the soft-focus filter, plus the haloing effect of the soft filter, when seen in a bigger image file, makes for a very lovely image. As seen, at 725 pixels wide, a lot of the effect is lost, but I still do like the hues and ethereal softness. This web image was made from the FujiFilm's software application named "EXIF Extractor". EXIF Extractor creates a 1440- pixel wide JPEG file. This is a straight rendition, with no cropping,no curves, and no levels, just one pass of USM and a shrink from 1440- to 725- pixels wide.
