This closeup of chives in bloom was done using the 80-400 VR lens paired with a Kenko Autofocusing 20mm extension tube. Having the Vibration Reduction feature still functional with extension tubes is a huge benefit for using this lens for close-up photography,since it only focuses down to about eight feet. With the 20mm extension tube, the 80-400 VR lens will focus as close as a measured 22 inches when set to 80mm. This photo was one of the very first ones I did when trying this extension tube with the VR lens.
