This hummingbird just showed up today, and began what appeared to be some sort of territorial-mate-seeking type of behavior. He perched atop this tree a few times, and I got my first photos of him at 6:59 AM. This is a few hours later,as some stormy weather rolled in. Believe it or not, the colors are accurate in this scene--the photinia is a rich red, the cedar trees are a fairly dark green, and the sky is a sickly, stormy gray color. I had just done a custom WB, and there really WAS very little color to be seen at the time I took the photo. I liked the muted palette of color, and where I live, seeing a large hummingbird perched in a tree like this is a somewhat rare occurrence.
