Worth Size 4 silver and blue spinners

A half dozen silver plated spinners with blue and aqua adornments. Each lure weighs around .375 ounces. This is not a heavy spinner, but a rather "light #4", and it has almost perfect balance for upstream casting and slow retrieves using a long, light-action spinning rod and a "4000-sized" modern spinning reel filled with .014" diameter monofilament line. This lure fishes BEST on MONOFILAMENT, and NOT on superline or braided line!

The VMC 9649 hook is the "standard wire" hook from VMC; this model, the 9649 is thin wire, so it HOOKS fish securely when using a light-action spinning outfit, and its tines are thin enough that many times when snagged up, the hook can be straightened out using 12 pound test Berkley Big Game monofilament line and a slow, steady pull. Many factory lures use the heavier-gauge 9650 hooks, which do not hook fish as well, and which are so strong that MOST snagged lures will be lost to the bottom. Lure makers want snagged lures to be lost to the bottom--lost lures make for more repeat sales.

This spinner is Worth Tackle Manufacturing's perfect balance Size 4. It is a VERY effective lure weight for upstream casting, and for dead-drift swings in slow to moderate current. (TPF http://www.thephotoforum.com/forum/off-topic-chat/352004-just-bit-fly-fishing.html]
