Using the Fast Camera application instead of the built-in Apple iPhone "Camera" app, gave a MUCH more-generous exposure in this contre-jour lighting conditions, and made it MUCH easier to get a decently edited shot in Lightroom. It was sooo bright out that I could not really see the right hand side of the iPhone's viewscreen...just shooting kind of half-blind...
