The sun rose over the moutains many, many miles to the east, and penetrated a miles-wide bank of fog. There was this very, very faint weird blue halo around the sun, which to my delight,is preserved pretty accurately in this photo. It was the coolest thing, this lovely, faint blue color that drew my eye to this otherwise monochromatic scene. I could detect very little color with my own eyes, except for the blue-ish aura around the sun. It was a delightful sunrise to look upon, with the ground cold and frozen, and everything coated in a light dusting of frost.
