Step 4_Wrap_MG_7403.jpg

With the bottom brass bead and the lead body in place, wrap the tag end's wire around the shaft. The longer the tag end, the easier this step is to accomplish. I normally hold the hook eye loop "crosswise" in the jaws of pliers, and simply wrap the tag end wire around the shaft using the fingers of my left hand. Again--if the tag end is longer than shown, this process will be much easier. If you simply can NOT get the tag end wire to wrap around the shaft, simply bend the wire sharply, back toward the hook, and leaving enough of a bend to "peg" or "pin" the body on the shaft, cut the wire off closely with side-cutters.

In my example, after I made 1.5 wraps around the shaft with the tag wire, I reverse bent the tag end using a pair of pliers and the tag end of the wire literally "snaps" off, making a smooth, clean edge with no sharp edges.
