John, We were staying a couple of nights at the farm adjacent to the ruin. When I mentioned to the farmers wife that I intended to photograph the site at night (having lived in the country when I was younger I know that the usual response to odd things at night is either dogs or 12 bore ) she informed me that a lady would be visiting the ruin that night to 'sit and watch for ghosts' I did not meet the lady but trust that after I had left the place she had a peaceful night.

Many years ago I read in a newspaper that a lady ghost was going to appear at a certain churchyard at midnight.
Being young and brave, I dressed up warm, got a good torch, with spare batteries and drove to the churchyard.
So there I was, with the other thousand people who had read the same article. kids running riot all over the graves, hot dog vans queueing up outside the cemetery gates.
Never did see the lady ghost, we all frightened the life out of her.
