End of the Line -- 6 months later,

I happened to be making a delivery to this scrap yard for the first time in early October and spotted these locos awaiting "their turn..." I re-visited this yard on 29th October three weeks after taking these pictures and they have nearly all gone.
I guess the "R.I.P." stood for Re-cycling In Progress.

I found this website on google and just shocked me to see thease pictures of the trains that used to be well used in the old days. Why carnt they just re-ues thase trains for heven sack i mean they still go form one place to another. o well i bet there gone now. i bet they had Lots of memorys inside them.

Derek What a great find, and well photographed, especially liked some of the low angle shots. Kind of sad to think of the stories connected to these trains and the lives they affected, and now as you say the "End of the Line". Well done and interesting gallery. Barri

Derek, I also liked the sense of decay and of time passing in this gallery - very much like your Rhyl shots, only better. The only thing missing from these shots is some miserable weather, lol - it looks far too cheerful :O) Keep up the good work.

i'm no diesel fan, but this is a sad sight (and great photo opportunity you lucky swine!). I once spotted something like this near the Gwili Railway in Wales when we were going to Pembrokeshire coast.. two or three diesel shunters on an overgrown siding by the road in the middle of nowhere (ok so maybe they belonged to the GR but i don't know!) great shots Derek
