Bird rock was on the coast 4 centuries ago, now a mile or so inland; no one told the Cormorants who still breed on the rock, believed to be the only place they do this in Wales. Many of these pictures were taken from about 800ft up on the flank of Cader Idris on the opposite side of the valley; got up to 1100+ ft before the road gave out.
