wandering in down town Shanghai trying to work out why when the green man comes on the cars dont stop - and why the motorbikes are on the pavement......this aside REALLY trying to work out why there are not much more people killed...

Amazing..the same situation in all big cities in China! I had been to Shanghai three times only, we drove three and half hours from Hangzhou, wepicked my Swedish friends and then back to Hangzhou immediately, I never looked around in China, just for business trips! V

Same thing in Hangzhou. Why not killed? They grow up with their enormous population and simply learn early how to maneuver in and out of the way! It is a sight to see and a feat to master.
