Ben Macdui is the second highest mountain in the UK. This image is taken from the summit cairn looking across at some other impressive peaks Braeriach (no 3 in UK), Cairn Toul (no 4 in UK), Sgor an Lochain Uaine (no 5 in UK). The scale is so difficult to capture from this high Plateau as for a fair distance there is little real reference point to gauge size....let me tell you though it is utterly compelling and the return trip via Cairn Gorm (no 6) ever more so.... and pretty frightening on those dramatic cliffs.
