A walk in the Fife countryside can occasionally bring you face to face
with one of Europe's top predators, the White Tailed Eagle.
These enormous birds, 3 feet high with an 8 foot wingspan, were reintroduced
in both the west and east of Scotland by the RSPB and are now a familiar
sight in several areas of the country, including Fife.
Sadly this one, identified by wing tag Red 2, was killed by a train just a
few months after this picture was taken.
