Knockin' On Heaven's Door
Old Calton Burying Ground, Waterloo Place, Edinburgh
Wandered away from the 'Festival' areas of town and wound up at the Old Calton
Burying Ground where there are some fascinating old tombs on view.
This one belongs to William Raeburn, a Perfumer who died in 1812.
His 'fluted and domed sarcophagus' is cleverly shaped like a perfume bottle.
Very impressive ~ shame he was never able to see it!
