This could be the worst picture that I've ever uploaded!
It's a very distant, cropped photograph of the R.A.F.'s Red Arrows display team
performing over a smoke covered Edinburgh in June 2011.
It was taken from a hillside about 15 miles away with 14x optical
+ 2x digital zoom - in effect an 800mm lens!
In the background are the silhouettes of Berwick Law (right) and the Bass Rock
(left) both of which are some 30 miles further away at North Berwick.
The quality is far from perfect but I was pleasantly surprised to get
any results at all from that distance on such a gloomy evening!
