Crocodile Hunter's Widow Visits Area Book Store

Hundreds waited hours in a line that wrapped outside a Bucks County book shop to meet the widow of crocodile hunter Steve Irwin. Terri Irwin greeted fans at The Doylestown Bookshop during a book signing Tuesday.
Ed Bassmaster waited four hours for the moment to greet Irwin.
"She's very humble down to earth, just like she is on TV," Bassmaster said.
He was there to get his copy of Irwin's newly released book signed. The book called Steve and Me is about Irwin's life and the experiences she shared with her late husband.
"Writing this book was very emotional and it was a difficult journey because of so many memories
that I had," Irwin said.
No doubt people were passionate about the crocodile hunter who died in 2006 during a run in with a sting ray.
Kathleen McCrossan came all the way from Ventnor New Jersey for the event.
"I think I'm going to cry it's very exciting," Kathleen McCrossan said.
McCrossan said it is great that this book helps Steve live on and Terri said that was the point.
"I really owed it to people to tell them about who Steve really was and to also share some conservation messages that were near and dear to our hearts and continue his legacy," Irwin said.
More than four hundred people attended the signing which was double the number expected. In fact, the store sold out of the books before the event even started.
The owners of the bookshop were not sure why their location was chosen for the signing but were grateful for the turnout which turned out to be the largest yet for Irwin's new book.
