No TV career for Steve Irwin’s son?
Sydney, Aug 25: While late wildlife conservationist Steve Irwin's daughter Bindi has earned a name for herself in show business, her family does not have any plans to make younger brother Bob follow in her footsteps as yet.
"There are no plans for Bob at the moment," news.com.au quoted manager and family friend John Stainton as saying.
He said that for the time being, their priority was to take care of Bindi's international TV career, including the hit series 'Bindi the Jungle Girl', that is currently being aired in the US and Australia.
Although Stainton said that Bob would stay in the background, he did reveal that the little boy would be the star attraction at his fourth birthday party in December at the Irwins' Australia Zoo, on the Sunshine Coast.
The zoo is heavily promoting the event with posters featuring the little boy and his late father.
"Crikey! Our little man is turning four," the zoo proclaims on its website.
Meanwhile, Bindi is set to present a special television programme 'My Daddy the Crocodile Hunter'on Channel 9 on Saturday, as a tribute to her late father.
Recent days have seen a lot of criticism over the inclusion of extensive footage of Steve in Bindi's current show. But Stainton feels that these concerns are uncalled for.
"It's like asking should Blankety Blanks be taken off air because Graham Kennedy died. And should we stop seeing Elvis Presley movies because he died 30 years ago?" he said.
He also revealed that the September 4 anniversary of Irwin's death would be a quiet family affair.
"We don't want to be involved in looking back on a sad event. We want to move forward. So we're shifting the focus to November 15, which is a celebration of Steve's life," he said.
