State fair features new sting ray exhibit
The Colorado State Fair is officially underway in Pueblo and you won't just see cows and horses at the fair. This year there are several new exhibits featuring exotic animals.
In triangle park, there is a free sting ray exhibit, which runs all day long. The public can put their hands in a tank of water and touch an Atlantic sting ray. Their owners say they won't hurt, because their stingers have been removed. As you may know sting rays got a bad wrap when Steve Irwin was killed by one of them last year, but owners say they're usually friendly creatures. "They're very docile, they're kind of like a house cat really. they're friendly, they're smart, they're very sociable animals, unless you really scare them or if you're swimming with them, the can almost not always sting you unless their on the bottom, and you can swim across the top of them and startle one, and they will defend themselves," said Joe Culver, who runs the sting ray show
