The late Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin's daughter, Bindi Sue, turned 9 this week and celebrated with a party at the Australia Zoo. The family, including mom, Terri and little brother, Robert "Bob", 3 1/2, were joined by twin sister singing group, The Veronicas. Bindi was given a hand-held walkie talkie for her birthday, making her an official Australia Zoo staff member.
Bindi always enjoys something new and different at the zoo, so this year I got her own radio, so she's official staff now," Mrs Irwin told the Nine Network. She is officially a zoo keeper at Australia Zoo, which means in the morning before school she can radio to the cat feeders, find out where the tigers are walking, so she accidentally doesn't bump into them. And she can go play in the zoo with her radio or wherever she wants to go, it's fantastic.
Bindi, added that the day was "so exciting", said she had received "so many things" for her birthday;
I know that I'm the luckiest kid in the world.
This was Bindi's first birthday without her father, who passed away in an accident on the Great Barrier Reef last September.
