Bindi the Jungle Girl Hits Australian TV Screens
Bindi: The Jungle Girl, starring Bindi Irwin, hits Australian television screens with the first of 26 episodes televised on the Australian national TV network ABC on Wednesday, July 18.
Filming of the new television series actually began more than a year ago, before the death of Bindi's father, Steve Irwin, in September last year. The show features footage of the Crocodile Hunter filmed before his death.
Bindi: The Jungle Girl shows the young Irwin, now nearly 9, in her tree-house with various animals. The show was launched at Australia Zoo in May and started screening in the US in early June on the Discovery Kids Channel.
